Adrian A. "Allen" Hester, US Army, Cpt., Ret., 50, of Elk Mound, WI, died Friday July 25th at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, MN as the result of an accident.

He was born at Frances E Warren AFB March 18th, 1964 in Cheyenne, Wyoming to Ann (Hook) and Adrian L. Hester. He graduated from Strother High School in 1982 in Seminole, OK. Growing up, Adrian was a member of FFA, in which he enjoyed showing livestock. He also participated in many rodeos.

He then attended Okmulgee Tech in Okmulgee OK studying Boot and Saddle making. He opened a boot and saddle shop in Seminole OK and also trained horses. He later moved to California to train horses after some time he returned to OK and joined the National Guard where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from UCO through the ROTC program from there he entered the Army as a 2nd Lieutenant where he was sent to officer training school in San Antonio TX then stationed at Ft. Bliss, El Paso TX. He attended OR Nursing School and was than deployed to Haiti and other TDY Deployments. Later stationed at Ft. Leonard Wood MO where he finished his military career and retired as Captain. He moved to McAlester OK where he was employed at McAlester Regional Hospital.

Adrian and Melissa started their lives together in South Dakota where they were married August 1, 2013. They moved to Colfax where they started their business "Hester's Equine Services." Their time together was short, but very much full of love with family and many friends.

Adrian was a very gifted and talented man in many areas whether it was his leather work, training horses, raising show goats or military career. Whatever he set his mind to do he was driven to succeed with excellence. He was a true Cowboy.

He will be dearly missed by his wife, Melissa; his three sons, Aaron Hester, US Army stationed at Ft. Bragg, NC, Colby Hester, US Army, stationed at Ft. Bliss, El Paso, TX, Adrian "Ty" Hester of McAlester, OK; a granddaughter, Lydia Hester; his parents, Adrian and Ann Hester of Seminole, OK; a brother, Adam (Nikki) Hester of Shawnee, OK; niece and nephew, Kaitlyn and Wyatt Hester; step-children, Jeanette Werner of Eau Claire, Joseph Werner, Brandon (Baylee) Werner, all of Elk Mound; his mother and father-in-law, Colleen and Richard Bergevin of Chippewa Falls.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, July 31 at Christ Lutheran Church, Chippewa Falls with the Rev. Mark Homp officiating. Following the service military rites will be conducted by the Chippewa Falls Patriotic Council. Interment will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.

Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m., Wednesday, July 30 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls and one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Disabled American Veterans.

AFTERSERVICE

A funeral service for Adrian Allen Hester, 50, of Elk Mound was held at 10 a.m., Thursday, July 31 at Christ Lutheran Church in Chippewa Falls. The Rev. Homp officiated and music was provided by Linda Downey. Personal reflections were given by Adrian's brother, Adam Hester. Military rites were conducted by the Chippewa Falls Patriotic Council and Frankie Rineck bugled taps. Casket bearers were Adrian, Colby and Adam Hester, Tim Bergevin, Joseph and Brandon Werner. Interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.
