Agnes E. Woodford, 93, formerly of Jim Falls, died Friday, January 25, 2013 at the Cornell Area Care Center in Cornell.

She was born September 15, 1919 in Duluth, MN to Ida (Pederson) and John Anderson. Agnes was raised in Jim Falls, where she also attended school.

Agnes married Earl D. Woodford on June 26, 1940 in Chippewa Falls. They farmed northeast of Jim Falls, where Agnes raised their children and made their home.

She was a member of Jim Falls United Methodist Church.

Agnes was well known for her baking; especially her homemade chocolate cake with homemade chocolate frosting. She enjoyed entertaining friends and neighbors with afternoon coffee and serving her special coffee cakes. Other interests were crocheting, making doilies and afghans, and canning. Agnes will also be remembered for her hugs. "Hugs" actually became her nickname later in life. She will be dearly missed.

Survivors include a daughter, Karen (Roger) Ewings of Jim Falls; three sons, Ronald (Barb) Woodford, David (Shirley) Woodford, Mark (Debbie) Woodford, all of Jim Falls; a sister, Elsie (Keith) Olsen of Eagan, MN; sister-in-law, Betty Moore of Eau Claire; 13 grandchildren, Kim (Brian) Pitsch, Dan Woodford, Kathy (Dave) Shervey, Jim (Michele) Woodford, Butch (Laurie) Ewings, Dawn (Kevin) Parks, Tim (Tara) Woodford, Bob Ewings, Sally (Kevin) Kiekhafer, Katie (Jamey) Bowe, Amber (Dan) Sweeney, Adam (Lorraine) Woodford, and Megan Woodford; 26 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Earl on July 14, 1993; a sister, Ellen McCann; brothers, Glenn and Art Anderson; brother-in-law, Nick McCann; and a sister-in-law, Helen Anderson.

A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m., Tuesday, January 29 at Jim Falls United Methodist Church, Jim Falls with the Rev. Steve Scott, officiating. Interment will be in Copp Cemetery, town of Anson.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 12 p.m., Tuesday at the church.

AFTERSERVICE:

A funeral service for Agnes E. Woodford, 93, of Jim Falls, was held at 12 p.m., Tuesday, January 29 at Jim Falls United Methodist Church in Jim Falls. The Rev. Steve Scott officiated and music was provided by Deb and Beth Dresel. Personal reflections were given by granddaughter, Megan Woodford and great-granddaughter, Callie Fliehr.

Interment was in Copp Cemetery, town of Anson. Casket bearers were grandsons, Butch Ewings, Dan, Jim and Tim Woodford.
