Albin V. Charipar, age 90, of Chippewa Falls passed away on February 6, 2015 at Our House Senior Living in Chippewa Falls while under the care of St. Joseph's Hospice.
He was born January 4, 1925 in Colfax County, Nebraska to the late Frank and Mary Charipar. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Matthies on April 16, 1950.
Albin farmed with his wife in rural Boyd, and later moved to farm in Chippewa Falls. He enjoyed work as a diesel mechanic for a number of years. He was mechanically inclined and often was requested to overhaul engines. He also worked part time at various tractor dealerships as a mechanic. His love for polka music, dance and playing his button accordion brought many years of joy for him. He was a devoted father and grandfather.
Survivors include two sons, Dr. Ron (Marjorie) Charipar of Ladysmith, Roger (Karen) Charipar of Chippewa Falls; five grandchildren, Kirk Charipar of Chippewa Falls, Dr. Elizabeth (Dr. Allen) Lee of Burlington, VT, Matthew (Kate) Charipar of Minneapolis, MN, Kevin Charipar of Chippewa Falls, and Kristin Charipar of Oakland, CA; one great-granddaughter, Madeleine Lee of Burlington, VT; two brothers, Marvin (Lianne) Charipar of Columbus, NE, Frankie (Darlene) Charipar of Leigh, NE; one sister, Mary Ann Karel of Clarkson, NE; brother-in-law, Gerald Bahns of Salem, OR; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy on September 23, 1986; his son, Kenneth on November 27, 1995; a sister, Esther Bahns; and brother-in-law, Jerry Karel.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, February 11 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls with the Rev. Robert Hoekstra officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Tuesday and one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the funeral chapel.
AFTERSERVICE
A funeral service for Albin V. Charipar was held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, February 11 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls. The Rev. Robert Hoekstra officiated and interment followed at Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls. Casket bearers were Matt, Kirk, Kevin, Ron, Roger and Marvin Charipar.
