Alphonse J. "Al" Krymkowski, 78, of Hallie, died Thursday, November 27, 2014 at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in Chippewa Falls.

He was born July 26, 1936 in Cudahy to Helen (Gorski) and Harry Krymkowski.

He served in the U.S. Air Force from1952 until his honorable discharge in 1956. He thenreceived a bachelor's degree in Police Science from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee and served25 yearsas a police officer for the city of South Milwaukee.

He married Jane Nielsenon December 26, 1987 and resided in South Milwaukee until recently relocating to Chippewa Falls to be near family.

A member of the American Legion, hehad agreat passion for fishing as well as cheering on the Brewers, Badgers and Packer teams.

He is survived by his wife, Jane of Hallie;son, Daniel (Rebecca) Krymkowski of Huntington, Vermont; daughter, Patricia (Earl) Hosmer of Thornton, Colorado; son, Thomas Krymkowski of Sun City West, Arizona; stepdaughters, Barbara Lund of Eau Claire, and Laurie (Troy) Oungst of Arbor Vitae, Wisconsin; and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son, Doug, parents Helen and Harry, and sister, Mary.

A visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m.on Monday, December 1 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel in Chippewa Falls with Rev. Msgr. Mark Pierce officiating. Burial with military honors provided by the Chippewa Falls Patriotic Council will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls.

AFTERSERVICE

A funeral service for Alphonse J. "Al"Krymkowski, 78, of Hallie, was held at 2 p.m., Monday, December 1 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls. Rev. Msg. Mark Pierce of Notre Dame Catholic Church officiated and music was provided by guitarist, Peter Lea. Interment with military honors conducted by the Chippewa Falls Patriotic Council was at Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls and "Taps" were bugled by Frankie Rineck. Casket bearers were Justin and Alex Lund, Austin, Evan and Troy Oungst and Jeff Nielsen.
