Arlene S. Liddell, 69, of Chippewa Falls, died Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at her home after a brief battle with cancer, surrounded by her family and under the special care of Julia Bowe and Mayo Clinic Health System Hospice.
She was born June 24, 1942 in Chippewa Falls to Frances (Ryman) and Rexford Smith. She grew up in Chippewa Falls, where she attended school.
Arlene married Robert Liddell on December 17, 1962. They have resided in Chippewa Falls since that time.
Arlene loved to spend time with family and friends. She loved all animals, especially her pets. She loved to do puzzles, watch the birds and squirrels from her window, fishing, camping at Peterson's Resort on Cornell Lake, traveling and shopping. She enjoyed attending events especially where children were present.
She is survived by her loving husband, Robert of Chippewa Falls; special friend and caregiver, Julia Bowe; three sisters, Bernice (Paul) Anderson-Parson, Doris Fritz, all of Chippewa Falls, Roberta Eliason of Eau Claire; five brothers, Richard Smith of Eau Claire, Roy (Joyce) Smith of IL, Chuck (Debbie) Smith of Park Falls, Larry (Debbie) of Eau Claire, Gary Smith of CA; her cat, Amber; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Carol Norsten; brother, Clarence Smith; her dogs, Rex and Sniffer; and a cat, Goldie.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, March 31 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls with the Rev. Jim Woldhuis of Chippewa Valley Bible Church officiating. Interment will be in Bateman Cemetery, town of Lafayette.
Friends may call from 4-7 p.m., Friday, March 30 and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the funeral chapel.
AFTERSERVICE:
A funeral for Arlene S. Liddell, 69, of Chippewa Falls was held at 10 a.m., Saturday, March 31 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls. The Rev. Jim Woldhuis of Chippewa Valley Bible Church officiated the service and a eulogy was given by Patrick Fleming.
Interment was in Bateman Cemetery, town of Lafayette and casketbearers were Patrick Smith, Wesley Smith, Kenny Anderson, Don Fritz, Tom Nowak, Justin Bowe and Rex Smith.
