Bernie Bandoli, 53, of Phoenix, Arizona, formerly of Chippewa Falls, passed away unexpectedly while at work on Friday, June 6th.
He was born December 1st, 1960 in Chippewa Falls, to James and Evelyn (Mahr) Bandoli. Bernie grew up in Chippewa Falls graduating from McDonell High School in 1979. He graduated from UW Stout with a degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology. He began working for Ingersoll in Rockford, IL where he worked for 18 years. He later moved to Phoenix, AZ and was employed by Agilent Technology. Uponrelocation of the company he recently accepted a position with Compound Photonics.
Bernie married Debbie Opengo in 1998 in Jamaica. They were happily married for 16 years. He loved their cats (Tabitha, Allie) and spending time with family and friends while teasing them all. He enjoyed traveling and vacationing with Debbie, his cars, Jeep, motorcycle,biking, andwas an avid runner.
Bernie was preceded in death by his grandparents. He is survived by his wife, Debbie and stepson, Justin Opengo of Rockford, IL;his parents, James and Evelyn Bandoli; siblings, Cyndi Burton of Eau Claire, Jim Bandoli of Tallahassee, FL, Dan (Cindy) Bandoli of St. Anthony, MN, Debbie (Jeff) Watton of Chippewa Falls;mother and father-in-law, Tony and Laura Opengo and many in-laws in Rockford, IL;grandchildren, Jalyn and Jaden;nieces and nephews,Nicole (Ryan) Steinmetz, Leah Anderson, Brittany Bandoli, Alicia Bandoli, Lindsey Bandoli, Derek Watton, Josh Watton, Angela Bandoli, and great-nephew, Jonah Steinmetz.
Bernie was the life of the party and a favorite uncle. He will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all who had the opportunity to know him.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at St Charles Parish, Chippewa Falls, with Fr. Ed Shuttleworth officiating. Burial to follow at HopeCemetery in Chippewa Falls.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m., Saturday at the church.
AFTERSERVICE:
A funeral service for Bernie Bandoli, 53, was held at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 14 at St. Charles Borromeo. Fr. Ed Shuttleworth was celebrant of the funeral mass with music provided by Lou Heimstead, Jerry Boorsma and the St. Charles Choir. Readers were Angela Bandoli and Jonah Steinmetz and those serving as gift bearers were Nicole Steinmetz, Leah Anderson, Brittany, Alicia and Lindsey Bandoli.
Interment was in Hope Cemetery, Chippewa Falls. Casket bearers were Dan and Jim Bandoli, Jeff, Derek and Josh Watton and Ryan Steinmetz.
