Barbara Anne Hunt, age 86 of Lake Hallie, died peacefully on Monday, December 14, 2015, at Comforts of Home in Chippewa Falls, WI. She was born in Chippewa Falls on April 26, 1929, to Fred and Mabel (Blank) Zech.
Barbara graduated from Chippewa Falls High School in 1947. She worked at First National Bank in Chippewa Falls prior to her marriage to Eugene Hunt at Lake Street United Methodist Church in Eau Claire on June 8, 1957. Barbara was a homemaker prior to going back to work for St. Joseph's Hospital in Chippewa Falls until her retirement in 1994. She was an active member of Lake Hallie United Methodist Church, Chippewa Valley Homemakers and the Sunbeam Clowns. She enjoyed knitting and sewing, reading, quilting, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Barbara is survived by her daughter, Julie (Robert) Goss of Kamloops BC; son, Steve Hunt of Des Moines IA; grandchildren, Amber Goss, Owen (Elaine) Goss, Brian Goss, Meghan Goss, and Evan Goss; siblings, Carrie (Jerry) Blodgett, Betty Anderson, Alma (Richard) Gunn, and Donald Zech; along with many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eugene; daughter, Jean Marie Hunt; siblings, Winnie, Carl, Cliff, Henry, Bob, and Margaret Zech.
A visitation will be held on Friday, December 18, 2015, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, 44 E. Columbia Street, Chippewa Falls. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 19, 2015, at Lake Hallie United Methodist Church, 12146 22nd Avenue, Lake Hallie WI, with a visitation one hour prior the service at church. Pastor Listowel Ayensu-Mensah will be officiating. Interment will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 21, 2015, in Prairie View Cemetery, Lake Hallie.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Barbara's nieces Pam and Sally for all their generous and loving care.
