Beatrice D. Cohoon, 96, of Chippewa Falls, died Monday, June 8, 2015 at Our House Assisted Living in Chippewa Falls.

She was born March 31, 1919 in the town of Lafayette, the daughter of Caroline (Gustman) and Peter Cornellier.

On October 31, 1936, she married Edwin Harold Cohoon. They resided in Chippewa Falls where Beatrice made their home and raised their children.

Beatrice was a longtime member of the Church of Christ in Chippewa Falls, which later was renamed Landmark Christian Church. Her faith and her church family were very important to her. She was a devoted member of the ladies aide and she taught Sunday school for many years.

She loved to spend time with her grandchildren, and enjoyed going to thrift sales.

She will be dearly missed by her seven children, Donna (Derry) Smaage of Orlando, FL, Barbara (Larry) Howell of Cumberland, Sharon (Jim) Anderson of Chippewa Falls, Sandra (Philip) Herrick of Boyd, Susan (Lonnie) Rhodes of Owatonna, MN, Edwin (Judy) Cohoon Jr. of Woodbury, MN, and Michael (Cathy) Cohoon of Chippewa Falls; 20 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Phyllis Jorstad, Lucille Sedlacek, Helen Shilts; eight brothers, Arnold, in infancy, Norman, LaVerne, Euclid, Clarence, Eugene, Floyd, and Robert Cornellier; and her husband Edwin in 1988.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 13 at Landmark Christian Church, Chippewa Falls with the Rev. Brad Crocker officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Friday at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church.

Memorials are appreciated and may be directed to the Landmark Christian Church in Chippewa Falls.

AFTERSERVICE:

A memorial service for Beatrice D. Cohoon, 96, of Chippewa Falls was held at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 13 at Landmark Christian Church, Chippewa Falls. The Rev. Brad Crocker officiated the service and music was provided by grandchildren, Philip and Brynn Rhodes. During the service, the obituary was read by grandson, David Tester; scripture was read by grandson, Chris Cohoon and granddaughter, Kirsten Rhodes; a poem was read by granddaughters, Karen Mitchell and Cheryl Smaage; and remembrances were shared by son-in-law, Larry Howell and other relatives.

Interment was at Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls and honorary bearers included grandsons, Brian Anderson, Chris Howell, Daniel Tester, Peter Rhodes, Chris Cohoon, Jeff Cohoon, Darin Smaage, and David Tester.
