Beatrice E. Nowak, 99, of Chippewa Falls, town of Lafayette, died Saturday, December 28, 2013 at her home while under the care of her granddaughter, Sara Nowak.

She was born December 22, 1914 in the town of Woodmohr, Chippewa County to Mary (Zwiefelhofer) and John Kuba. She was raised in the town of Woodmohr and attended St. Pauls Parochial School and graduated from Bloomer High School in 1933.

On February 7, 1948, Beatrice married Edmund Nowak at St. Charles Catholic Church in Chippewa Falls.

She was employed at Reiters Steakhouse and the Boston Clothing Store in Chippewa Falls and at London Square in Eau Claire until retiring in 1981. She was a faithful member of The Church of Notre Dame in Chippewa Falls.

Survivors include one son, Larry Nowak of Chippewa Falls; two granddaughters, Kelly Nowak of Reno, NV, Sara Nowak of Eau Claire; and a great-grandson, Quinn Gugin.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edmund on January 21, 1955; two sisters, Leona Harings, Marie Tindula; and two brothers, Joe and Andrew Kuba.

A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, January 2 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls with Msgr. Mark Pierce officiating. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Chippewa Falls.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service Thursday at the funeral chapel.

Beatrices family would like to extend their gratitude to her caregivers, Hsiang Richards and Sheila Glodowski. Thank you for your love and compassion given to Beatrice.

AFTERSERVICE

A funeral service for Beatrice E. Nowak, 99, of Chippewa Falls, town of Lafayette was held at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, January 2 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls. Msgr. Mark Pierce of the Church of Notre Dame officiated and music was provided by Judy Brist. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery, Chippewa Falls. Casket bearers were Jeff Wilson, James Peterson, Larry Devolve and Roy Gugin.
