Beryl Willmarth Gerber, 92, of Chippewa Falls, died Wednesday, October 05, 2011 at Wissota Health & Regional Vent Center in Chippewa Falls.
She was born January 15, 1919 in the town of Birch Creek, Chippewa County to Eva (Meinen) and Ben Willmarth. She was raised in the town of Birch Creek and attended Pleasant Ridge Grade School. She graduated from Holcombe High School in 1937. She then attended the Eau Claire Teachers College and graduated in 1939. She taught school in Birch Creek for one year.
Beryl married John B. Gerber on June 28, 1941 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Eagleton. After their marriage they resided in Jim Falls, where Beryl taught reading from 1968-1973.
She was a member of Our Hope Lutheran Church, Chippewa Falls.
Survivors include: four daughters, Ida Mae Cohoon of Chippewa Falls, Kathleen (Bruce) Dressel of Chippewa Falls, Patricia (Gerald) McEathron of Holcombe, Debora (Loren) Bergeron of Chippewa Falls; a son, Michael (Julie) Gerber of Eau Claire; a brother, Ben Willmarth of Washington; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
Beryl and John were foster parents to ten infants over a five year period. They loved to travel and had been to all 50 states. Beryl was an avid reader, liked to work on crossword puzzles, kept in touch with many friends and family through letter writing, and she loved chocolate. She will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, John on May 19, 2000; and two brothers, Kenneth and Carroll Willmarth.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, October 8 at Our Hope Lutheran Church, Chippewa Falls with Pastor Philip Pitt officiating. Interment will be in Countryside Union Cemetery, town of Goetz, Chippewa County.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church.

A funeral service for Beryl Willmarth Gerber, 92, of Chippewa Falls, was held at 11 a.m., Saturday. October 8 at Our Hope Lutheran Church, Chippewa Falls. Pastor Philip Pitt officiated, music was provided by Sharon Pitt and daughter, Kathleen Dressel recited a poem.
Interment was in Countryside Union Cemtery, town of Goetz, Chippewa County. Casket bearers were: Jeremy Bergeron, Chad McEathron, Robert McEathron, Craig Dressel, Mark Wendt and David Dusick.
