Betty Jackson

Betty L. Jackson, 88, of the Village of Lake Hallie, Chippewa Falls, died Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at Chippewa Manor while under the care of Mayo Clinic Home Health and Hospice.

She was born December 30, 1934, in Augusta, WI to Leonard and Bertha (Moore) Raether.  She grew up in Augusta and graduated from Eau Claire High School in 1953.

On August 1, 1970, Betty married LaMoyne “Buck” Jackson in Reno, NV. They spent 46 years happily married.

Betty worked at Uniroyal in Eau Claire in the 70’s and 80’s.  She also worked as a waitress at Austin’s White House for close to 20 years. She had many different hobbies, and when she found a craft she enjoyed doing she went all out. In her spare time she enjoying painting, ceramics, clay molding, and was a beautiful seamstress.

Betty is survived by her five children, Vicki Martinez of Chippewa Falls, Katherine "Katy" (Tory) Toraason of Eau Claire, Patrick Jackson of Jim Falls, LaMoyne E. Jackson of Eau Claire, and Terry (Wen Jie) Jackson of Chippewa Falls; 15 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Buck in 2016; daughter, Lana Romero; stepsister, Jo Anne Holmes; and stepbrothers, Jim, Jack, and Mike Moore.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m., Tuesday, October 17 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with Pastor Alan Dunham officiating. Interment will be at Prairie View Cemetery, Village of Lake Hallie.

Betty’s family would like to thank the staff of Chippewa Manor and Mayo Clinic Home Health and Hospice for the compassionate care they provided.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to donor’s choice.
