Betty J. Polzin, 91, of Altoona, formerly of Chippewa Falls, died on Wednesday, February 19, 2014. She and her husband Al are together once again and dancing the Watusi and the Waltz.
She was born June 23, 1922 in Oshkosh to Ida (Hom) and William Kriese.
Betty married Allan Polzin on September 28, 1946 at Epiphany Lutheran Church in Eau Claire. She worked for many years in food service at Halmstad Elementary School.
Betty enjoyed dancing, cooking, knitting and crocheting. She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to tell jokes and stories.
Survivors include a daughter, Pamela Lloyd-Polzin of Eau Claire; a granddaughter, Katherine "Kat" Wennerberg of Eau Claire; and lifelong friend, Vallie Huffman of Altoona.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Al on May 19, 2012; grandson, Carl Wennerberg; and two brothers, Cliff and Russell Kriese.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday , March 1 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls with Pastor Nate Perry officiating. Private interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls.
Visitation will be from 12 p.m. until the time of the service Saturday at the funeral chapel.
Memorials in Betty's honor may be directed to Christ Lutheran School in Chippewa Falls.
