Beverly Chartier

Beverly M. Chartier, of 11937 170th St., Chippewa Falls, town of Eagle Point, owner of Mallard Resort, died Wednesday May 18, 2011 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.

She was born May 21, 1936 in Red Wing, Minn. to Marion B. (Leonard) and Ralph A. Bergholtz. She was raised in Ellsworth, Wis. (at Lawton). She moved to Mallard Resort in the town of Eagle Point with her parents on October 16, 1946, when her parents bought the resort. She graduated from Chippewa Falls High School in 1954. She then attended and graduated from Luther Hospital School of Nursing in 1957.

Bev married Bill Chartier on December 14, 1961 in Red Wing, Minn. They were later divorced.

She was employed as an RN at Luther Hospital, St. Paul Ramsey Hospital, Mt. Sinai Hospital in Minneapolis, Phoenix, Arizona General Hospital and Cedar of Lebanon in Los Angeles. She returned to Chippewa Falls in 1966 to help her mother with the resort and was employed at St. Joseph's Hospital in Chippewa Falls and then at Northern Center from 1966 until retiring in 1994 after 29 years of service. After her retirement she continued to operate the Mallard Resort.

Bev was an active member of Jim Falls United Methodist Church, the Methodist Church Women and the Chippewa Falls Chamber of Commerce.

Survivors include: her Auntie, Berniece Leonard of Ellsworth; her cousins, Jim and Jerry Leonard of Ellsworth, Judy Schroeder of Brandon, S.D., Allen Bergholtz of Appleton, Ralph Lundahl of Canada and many friends.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; her beloved significant other, Frank Vroblosky on July 24, 2000; her cousins, Virginia Jambretz, Robert Bergholtz, Len Lundahl, and Patty Rae.

A funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Monday, May 23, 2011 at Jim Falls United Methodist Church in Jim Falls with Rev. Steve Scott and Rev. Eric Nelson officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls.

Friends may call from 1-4 p.m., Sunday, at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel in Chippewa Falls and one hour prior to the service, Monday at the church.

A funeral service for Beverly M. Chartier, 74, of Chippewa Falls, town of Eagle Point was held at 11 a.m., Monday, May 23, 2011 at Jim Falls United Methodist Church in Jim Falls. Rev. Stephen Scott and Rev. Eric Nelson officiated and music was provided by organist, Ardis Nazer and vocalists, Debbie and Beth Dresel. Interment was in Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls. Casket bearers were: Harlan Hanson, Squeak Michels, Jack Vold, Kurt Barger, Dan Tallman and Ivan Semingson.
