Brenda D. Gaier

Brenda Dawn Gaier, 71, of Chippewa Falls, died peacefully at home on September 23, 2023, with family by her side after a courageous, two-year battle with Interstitial Pulmonary Fibrosis.

She was born in Chippewa Falls on May 1, 1952, to Frank and Germaine (Rhyner) Agnew and graduated from Chi-Hi in 1970. After earning a degree in Marketing, she had a long career at Mason Shoe Factory in Chippewa Falls which allowed her to be home with her sons when they got home from school and spend weekends with her family.

Brenda Dawn Agnew and Robert Lee Gaier were married on September 16, 1972, and had two sons: Troy and Jacob. She loved being a mom and later became the best Gigi ever to her grandchildren, Zach and Kendal. Brenda loved gardening, decorating for the holidays, and spending time with her family. Some of her favorite and most cherished moments were catching up on the latest Netflix movies with Zach and Kendal. She worked hard to take care of her family, did all she could to help others, and always made sure she had treats in her pantry for her dog-in-law, Frankie.

Brenda will be forever missed by her sons, Troy (Julie) Gaier and Jacob (John) Gaier-Welch of Chippewa Falls; grandchildren, Zachary and Kendal Gaier; brothers, Brent (Lu) and Kim (Char) Agnew; sisters, Chela (Dennis) Scheidler and Lori (Jamie Ottum) Agnew; sister-in-law, Janice Gaier; and many nieces, nephews, and life-long friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” Gaier; her parents; her father- and mother-in-law, Carl and Barbara Gaier; brothers-in-law, Ronald “Ronny”, Charles “Chuck” Gaier, and William “Bill” Kurtz; sister-in-law, Vernetta Kurtz; nephew, David Kurtz; and her great-niece, Lisa Hamilton.

Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m., Friday, October 6 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls. A funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. on Friday, October 6 at the funeral home with Pastor Justin Arnold officiating.

Interment will be at Prairie View Cemetery, Village of Lake Hallie.

Following the Interment, a celebration gathering will be held at the Fill Inn Station, Chippewa Falls.

Brenda’s family extends their deep gratitude to the staff at Mayo Clinic Home Health and Hospice for their care and support, and to the many family and friends who expressed their love, called, visited, prayed, and offered words of encouragement. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Wounded Warrior Project or donor’s choice.
