Brent William Dressel, age 76, of Elk Mound, passed away on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at home withhis family by his side.

Brent was born April 27, 1940 in Chippewa Falls, the son of Bernard and Ruth (Barr) Dressel. He grew up in Jim Falls and attended grade school in Jim Falls, andgraduatedfrom Chi-Hi in 1958. He continued his education at the technical school, earning an Associate degree.

He served in the National Guard, entering at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.

For 42 years, Brent worked as a project engineer at Presto, where he was involved in the engineering and design of many of today's useful kitchen items. While working at Presto, he met the love of his life, Janice Iverson.

Brent and Janice were married on September 19, 1964 at the Barum Lutheran Church in Elk Mound. They resided in Elk Mound where Brent enjoyed the outdoors. He loved to hunt and fish with family and friends. He enjoyed elk hunting trips out west with his son Kirt, and deer hunting at the family cabin in Grantsburg.The family will cherish the numerous memories they made at their hunting cabin together.He enjoyed watching his grandchildren in school sports and activities. He enjoyed painting wildlife pictures and many woodworking projects at home. He also enjoyed getting together with friends to playcard games. He will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Janice; daughter, Susan (Dominique) Joachim; son, Kirt (Kristin Clements) Dressel; five grandchildren, Courtney and Austin Dressel, Dustin, Alexis and Damien Joachim; a sister, Charlotte Wrazel; nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his in-laws, Orville and Grace Iverson; and a brother-in-law, Frank Wrazel.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 8 at Big Elk Creek Lutheran Church with the Rev. Hal Schroetter officiating. Burial will follow at Big Elk Creek Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls and one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may go to the Big Elk Creek Lutheran Church in Brent's honor.
