Byron D. "Red" Trott, 73, of Chippewa Falls, town of Anson, passed away Monday, May 28, 2012 at the VA Hospital in Minneapolis, MN.
He was born August 6, 1938 in Bruce, to Elvera (Holly) and Byron B. Trott. He graduated from Bruce High School in 1956.
After high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. and proudly served from 1956 until his honorable discharge in 1958.
Red married Carol Yoost on February 14, 1959 at the English Lutheran Church of Bateman in Chippewa Falls, town of Lafayette. The couple lived in the town of Anson most of their married life. Red worked as a mechanic for Ideal Chevrolet and Meyer Chevrolet in Chippewa Falls, and later at Rollie's in Chippewa Falls. He liked to tinker in his garage and was well known for being able to fix anything.
In their younger years, he and his wife, Carol belonged to a Square Dancing Club and traveled all over the country dancing in competitions and for fun. He also enjoyed spending time with their friends at Birch Point. He will be dearly missed.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Carol of Anson; a son, Byron D. (Connie) Trott Jr. of Bruce; two daughters, Kathy (Mark) Hedrington of Anson, Theresa (Cary) Roper of Anson; sisters, Sharon (Jim) Lindquist of Andover, MN, Shelley Carpenter of Ladysmith, Bonnie Host of Bruce; a daughter-in-law, Linda Trott of Hallie; sister-in-law, Judy Trott of Ladysmith; grandchildren, Cody and Matthew Roper of Anson, Shane (Whitney) Trott of Bruce, Nicole (Paul) Trott of Exeland, Ashley (Mark) Nelson of Ladysmith, Justeen (Dennis) Xiong of Eau Claire, Cegie Trott of Chippewa Falls, Maranda (Eric) Carlson of Eau Claire; many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, three brothers, Gerald, Dennis and Richard Trott; and a son, Dennis Trott in January, 2011.
Visitation hours will be from 4-7 p.m., Thursday, May 31 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls.
Private services will be held. Burial with military honors provided by the Chippewa Falls Patriotic Council will be in Bateman Cemetery, town of Lafayette.
