Carl N. Krueger, 97, formerly of 315 Dwight St., Chippewa Falls, died Thursday, January 3, 2013 at Wissota Health & Regional Vent Center in Chippewa Falls.
He was born July 12, 1915 in Chippewa Falls to Mary (Riplinger) and Herman Krueger. He attended St. Charles Catholic Grade School.
Carl married Margaret Burger on October 14, 1940 at St. Charles Catholic Church in Chippewa Falls.
He was employed at Nachreiner Welding on Willow St. in Chippewa Falls until entering the U.S. Army in September 1943, serving in the Pacific Theatre where he earned a Purple Heart in the Philippines. After being honorably discharged he returned to work at Nachreiner Welding. He then worked at Presto and then bought Swoboda Welding in 1956, which was Swoboda/Krueger Welding, until purchasing the business in 1964 and continued it as Krueger Welding until selling it to his son, Ron in 1978 when he retired.
Survivors include two daughters, Carol (John) Kraemer of Chippewa Falls, Roxanne "Roxie" (Michael) Lund of Appleton; a son, Ronald (Barbara) Krueger of Chippewa Falls; a sister-in-law, Charlotte Krueger of St. Paul, MN; five grandchildren, Eva (Raul'Garcia) Kraemer, Katie (Josh) Kraemer-Forehand, Jessica (Josh) Sedlacek, Jennifer Krueger, Jacob (Afiya) Krueger, four great-grandchildren, Olivia Margaret Sedlacek, Henry Kraemer-Forehand, Lincoln Robert Sedlacek, Violet Kraemer-Forehand and is also survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Margaret on February 27, 2011; one son, Roger; two grandchildren, Greta Kraemer, Eric Lund; two sisters, Catherine Postl, Cecile Orr; four brothers, Paul, Ray, Roman and Jim Krueger.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, January 7 at St. Charles Catholic Church in Chippewa Falls with Fr. Robert Letona officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Chippewa Falls Patriotic Council. Interment will be at a later date in Calvary Cemetery, Chippewa Falls.
Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m., Sunday at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls and Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. A prayer vigil led by Deacon Tom Kinnick will be at 4 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
AFTERSERVICE
A funeral service for Carl N. Krueger, 97, of Chippewa Falls, was held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, January 7, 2013 at St. Charles Borromeo, Chippewa Falls. Fr. Robert Letona officiated and music was provided by Jerry Boorsma and the St. Charles Choir. Military honors were conducted by the Chippewa Falls Patriotic Council and Frankie Rineck bugled "Taps."
Casket bearers were Jacob Krueger, Josh Sedlacek, Josh Forehand, Jeff Koch, Mike Zenner and Brad Tumm.
Sunday evening Deacon Thomas Kinnick led family and friends in a prayer vigil at the funeral home.
