Carl Retz

He was born June 10, 1915 in Boyceville to Lizzie (Schultz) and Robert H. Retz and raised in Boyceville.

Carl entered the U.S. Army in 1940, serving in New York and the Pacific Theatre until being honorably discharged.

He married Veronica Ohrtman on April 16, 1945 at St. Catherine of Genoa Catholic Church in Brooklyn, NY. They moved to Chippewa Falls in 1946.

Carl was employed for W.S. Darley in Chippewa Falls for 12 years until 1958. They then moved to Richfield, Minn., where he was employed for Honeywell and then for the College of Engineering at the University of Minn. for 22 years until retiring on June 10, 1980. He was a resident of the Chippewa Manor Retirement Center in Chippewa Falls and has resided with his son and daughter-in-law for the past 15 months in St. Paul, Minn.
