Carol M. Blodgett

Carol M. Blodgett, 91, of Elk Mound, died Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at The Lakehouse in Chippewa Falls surrounded by family while under the care of Interim Hospice.

She was born January 30, 1933, in Chippewa County to Fred and Mabel (Blank) Zech. She graduated from Chippewa Falls High School in 1951.

On November 10, 1956, she married Jerry F. Blodgett in Chippewa Falls. Together they raised their family and tended to their farm in the town of Wheaton. Carol also had a creative side and enjoyed many crafts including sewing and knitting. She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandkids. 

Carol is survived by her children, Diane of Rochester, MN, Jerome of Chippewa Falls, Jennifer Stephan of Fall Creek, Sally of Chippewa Falls, Amy of Crystal, MN and Paul (Jodie) of Elk Mound; grandchildren, Rebecca England (Chad Huss), Tim (Amanda) Stephan, Christopher Stephan, Bailey, Abigail and Cayden Blodgett; great-grandchildren, Eli, Preston, Brenden, Micah, Aiden, Mason and Jackson; sister, Alma (Richard) Gunn of LaCrosse, WI; brother, Donald Zech of West Palm Beach, FL; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jerry in 2019; daughter, Cindy; son-in-law, James Stephan Jr.; brothers, Henry, Clifford, Carl and Robert Zech; sisters, Betty Anderson, Winnifred Zech, and Barbara Hunt.

Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m., Wednesday, February 28 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, February 29 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Elk Mound with Fr. Tim Welles officiating. Interment will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Elk Mound. Visitation will also begin at 10 a.m. at the church on Thursday.
