Carol H. Sorenson (Kuhrasch) 90, died Thursday, May 16, 2013 at St. Joseph Hospital, Chippewa Falls, WI, where she was born and worked as head nurse of the Obstetrics.

Carol was born to Alma and Frank Kuhrasch on March 3, 1923. She attended the Chippewa Falls School System; graduating in 1940. She went onto Eau Claire State College and then onto Rochester, MN, where she attained her degree as a Registered Nurse.

November 30, 1946 she married Lawrence (Larry) S. Sorenson at Central Lutheran Church.

Carol served her community in many ways. She was Brownie and Girl Scout Leader for her daughters troop; she was Cub Scout Den Mother for her sons and their troops. She was an active member of Eastern Star and T.T.T. and served in many of the chairs. She was also a member of the Elks Ladies and St. Joseph Hospital Auxiliary, where she spent several years working in the gift shop. Playing Bridge with friends was an important part of her life.

Survivors include: sons, Steven (Susan) Sorenson of Ripon, WI, Paul (Darla) Sorenson of North Mankato, MN; brother, Robert Bud (Rita) Kuhrasch of Laona, WI; grandsons, Keith (Joanne) Sorenson of White Rock, B.C., Greg (Amber) Sorenson of Madison, WI, Steven Sorenson of North Mankato, MN; great granddaughter, Petha Beckenridge Sorenson; special niece, Roberta Kuhrasch and her daughter Rebecca Rasmussen; nephew, Frank (Cindy) Kuhrasch and their children, Ben and Kristin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and daughter, Susan.

A funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Monday, May 20 at Central Lutheran Church in Chippewa Falls with Rev. Rick Hoyme officiating. Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls.

The family will greet friends from 1:30 p.m. until time of the service.

Memorials are preferred to St. Josephs Hospital Foundation and Central Lutheran Church Foundation.

AFTERSERVICE:

A funeral service for Carol H. Sorenson, 90, of Chippewa Falls, was held at 2:30 p.m., Monday, May 20 at Central Lutheran Church in Chippewa Falls. The Rev. Rick Hoyme officiated and music was provided by Christine Hitt and family friend, Emily Dinegan. Personal reflections were given by son Paul Sorenson. Interment was in Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls. Casket bearers were grandsons, Greg, Steve and Keith Sorenson and nephew, Frank Kuhrasch.
