Charles Brovold

Charles B. "Chuck" Brovold, 64, of 5774 197th St., Chippewa Falls, town of Lafayette, died Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at Mayo Clinic Health Systems in Eau Claire surrounded by his loving family.

He was born March 31, 1947 in Chippewa Falls to Margaret (Vowinkel) and Rolf Brovold. He was raised in Chippewa Falls and then moved to South Milwaukee with his father after the death of his mother. He graduated from South Milwaukee High School in 1965. He returned to Chippewa Falls, where he began his employment at Amoco Foam Products until entering the U.S. Navy on August 11m, 1966. He served in Vietnam until being honorably discharged on February 19, 1970. He then returned to work at Amoco/BP/Tenneco/PACTIV where he was a Process Engineer Technician, until he retired in 2002.

Chuck married Bonnie Marie Pederson on June 5, 1971 at Central Lutheran Church in Chippewa Falls. They resided in Chippewa Falls/Lafayette since their marriage.

Survivors include: his wife, Bonnie; one son, Steve (Andrea) Brovold of Chippewa Falls; one half-sister, Lisa (Dan Swallow) Brovold of Iowa; his step-mother, Jean Brovold of Chippewa Falls; one step-sister, Marlys Friemark of Ohio, one step-brother, Randy (Kathy) Nelson of Jim Falls; two grandchildren, Andrew "Drew" Brovold and Brooke Brovold, who was born on her grandpa's day of death, July 5, 2011 and also survived by several cousins.

Chuck loved woodworking and belonged to the Chippewa/Eau Claire Woodturning Club

He was preceded in death by: his parents and a step-sister, Vicki Barney.

A funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m., Saturday, July 9, 2011 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel in Chippewa Falls with Rev. Dr. Barry Boyer, First Presbyterian Church, Chippewa Falls officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls with military honors conducted by the Chippewa Falls Patriotic Council.

Friends may call from 4-7 p.m., Friday and one hour prior to the service, Saturday at the funeral chapel.

A funeral service for Charles B. "Chuck" Brovold, 64, of Chippewa Falls, town of Lafayette was held at 12:30 p.m., Saturday, July 9, 2011 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel in Chippewa Falls. Rev. Dr. Barry Boyer of First Presbyterian Church, Chippewa Falls officiated and personal reflections were shared by Chuck's friend, Brian George.

Interment was in Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls. Casket bearers were: Allen Bateman, Dale Fitzpatrick, Bob Baier, Brian Atchinson, Pete Modl, Brian George, Brian Berthiaume and Dave Blomlie
