Charles "Charlie" V. Jordan

Charles V. Jordan “Charlie”, 69, of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, graduated to heaven on Saturday, February 8, 2025, after a courageous three-year battle with leukemia. He was blessed with incredible care from the Mayo System oncology team throughout his battle, including a successful bone marrow transplant.

Born in 1955 to Charles “Chuck” and Shirley Jordan in Alhambra, California, Charlie went on to live in Texas, Indiana, Wisconsin and Kentucky, returning to Wisconsin in 2019, much to the delight of Wendy and her family.

A devoted follower of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Charlie exemplified a life of service and love within his church family, whether in Kentucky, Wisconsin or parts in between. He was truly a man after God’s own heart, a giant of a man with a boundless capacity for love.

Most days Charlie could be found tinkering in his woodworking shop, creating all kinds of projects from a simple coat hook to detailed cabinetry. He loved creating, especially for others. His willingness to lend a hand was extended to all, tackling any task that came his way, including plumbing, electrical, car repairs, and everything in between. With his quick wit, impressive magic tricks, playful pranks, and signature “he-he-he”, he kept everyone entertained and smiling. Charlie also loved visiting Florida, where he spent time with his family and seldom missed a chance to go deep-sea fishing in the sunshine state.

Charlie had a very diverse work history and served in many different roles over the years. From truck driver to mechanic to businessman, he had a knack for being successful at whatever he chose to do. Late in his professional career, he owned and operated two Culver’s restaurants in Kentucky, where he loved greeting customers from his favorite position at register 2, with a big smile and warm, “Welcome to Delicious.” He loved his employees and it showed.

Charlie was a kind and loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, and will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his beloved wife, Wendy; his mother, Shirley; and his children, Eric, Corey, Nicholas (Jennifer), Greg (Amie), Charley (James) Atcher, Matt (Molly), Courtney, Curtis Brown, Katie (Ryan) Gatewood, Clint, and Deanna.

He also leaves behind his twenty-two cherished grandchildren, who will know of their grandfather’s legacy. His siblings, Bob (Charity), Mike (Linda), and Michelle Nash, along with his brothers from another mother, Ken Taylor, Mark Hedrington, and Jim Montgomery, also mourn his loss.

He was preceded in death by his previous wife, Denise; brother-in-law, Joseph Nash; sister-in-law, Karen Jordan; and granddaughter Alexis.

Charlie and his father, Chuck, spent their final days together in the hospital. On Monday, February 10, Charlie welcomed his father into heaven.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, February 21 at 12:00 p.m. CST at Chippewa Valley Bible Church, 531 E. South Ave, Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. at church, followed by lunch after the service. Pastor Dean Benzschawel of Refuge Church, a longtime friend and brother in Christ, will officiate. A private burial will be held in the spring.

Charlie’s heart was in helping others. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation that will be placed into a fund to continue his legacy of assisting those in need.
