Charles H. "Chuck" Puchalski, 68, of Cadott, died Wednesday, December 30, 2015.

He was born November 12, 1947 in Fergus Falls, MN to Dora (Reuss) and Hugo Puchalski.

He graduated from Barrett High School in 1965.

In 1967, he joined the National Guard and also worked in Benson, MN painting Tyler Frontier Spreaders.

In 1968, he went to work for Johnson Brothers from Litchfield, MN. There he joined the Carpenter's Union. He worked building bridges, dams, and disposal plants in various towns. In 1969, he married Sue Jenson. He worked for Johnson Brothers until 1973. From 1973-1977, he started and operated a lumber company in Barrett, MN with his brother Terry. They built many houses around the community.

Between 1977 and 1985, he was an over the road truck driver for Midwest Coast Jerry Siemens' Trucking. He hauled meat and produce in 48 states.

Between 1985 and 1995, Chuck worked for Johnson Brothers and Lunda Construction.

In 1995, Chuck and his son, Bruce started a construction company named Jim Falls Buildings & Construction. Together, they built many, many houses in the Chippewa Valley.

In 1986, Charles married a girl from Boston, MA, Maureen E. Alger. In 1988, they bought 5 acres in Wisconsin and built a home where he lived out his life. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, the outdoors, playing cards, and watching Westerns. He also never missed a Packer game. His greatest joy came from spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Maureen E. Puchalski; his five children, Jodi (Kerby) Strickler, James Butler, Heather (Jamie) Gubrud, Crystal Butler, Dusty (Heather) Puchalski; daughter-in-law, Shannon Puchalski; siblings, Nancy Waugh, Elaine (Jim) Mattson, Betty (Richard) Tweeter, Terry Puchalski, Gerald (Zina) Puchalski, Dick (Diane) Puchalski, Neil (Jan) Puchalski, and Kelly (Kyle) Purrier; his 12 grandchildren, Kyle, Samantha, Tyler, Chase, Jared, Riley, Brennan, Hunter, Ridley, Charlie, Lorelai, and KaSandra; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Bruce Puchalski; brothers- in-law, Virgil Johnson and Harvey Waugh; and sister-in-law, Lea Puchalski.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, January 4, 2016 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls with the Rev. Aaron Sturgis officiating.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service Monday at the funeral chapel.
