Cheryl J. Nunke, 69, of Jim Falls, died Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at Wissota Health and Regional Vent Center in Chippewa Falls.
She was born June 12, 1945 in Chippewa Falls to Matilda (Sukopp) and Albert Walters. She graduated from Chippewa Falls High School in 1963.
Cheryl married Walter Nunke on June 15, 1963 in Jim Falls. She worked as a bookkeeper at Fanetti Transport, then at the Chippewa Herald Telegram, and at Advanced Laser Machining. She also ran a seamstress business from her home.
She was active in the 4-H Club and she enjoyed canning and tending to her flower gardens.
Survivors include her husband, Walter; three daughters Toni Skifstad of Eagan, Minnesota, Sheila (Todd) Iverson of Chippewa Falls, Lynn (Rick) Reim of Jim Falls; a son, Matt Nunke of Jim Falls; two sisters, Kathy (Roman) Swan, Marilyn Stratton all of Jim Falls; three brothers, Charles (Sandi) Walters of Chippewa Falls, James (Barb) Walters of Jim Falls, Robert (Marlys) Walters of Grandview, Wisconsin; nine grandchildren, Kirsten, Brianna and Jordan Skifstad, Taylor and Mitchell Iverson, Alex, Brooke and Cole Nunke, Nathan Reim; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother-in-law, Donald Stratton.
Visitation will be from 3-6 p.m., Saturday, August 23 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls. Private interment will be at Copp Cemetery, town of Anson.
