Colleen L. "Lillian" Ebben, 78, of Stanley, died Friday, December 19, 2014 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born November 15, 1936 in Boyd to Clara (Melville) and William Walters. Lil grew up on her family's farm in Boyd.
On June 29, 1953, she married Kenneth John Ebben in the town of Edson. They resided in Stanley where Lil worked as a waitress and then as an aide at the Stanley Hospital. She later worked as an aide at the Northern Center and retired from there at age 59. In her retirement, she continued helping the developmentally disabled as a home healthcare aide.
Lil will always be remembered for her kind, loving ways. She cherished time spent with her family and they treasure those memories. She was solid in her beliefs and led by example. She was a faithful member of All Saints Parish.
She will be dearly missed by her daughter, Karen (Gary) Krizan of Stanley; two grandchildren, Tanya (Scott Mewhorter) Krizan and Wade (Tina) Krizan; five great-grandchildren, Saylor Rae Lechleitner, Anna, Hunter, Kaylee and Kayden Krizan; three sisters, Janice (Rollie) Seidl, Audrey (William) Schemenauer, Karen (Chuck Langel) Lewallen; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth on December 6, 1989; three sisters, BeverlyKierein, Pauline Barquist and Sandra Campbell; five brothers, Donald in infancy, William "Carvel", John "Fuzzy", James "Patrick" and Tom Walters; brothers-in-law, Jack Lewallen, Richard Barquist, Jerry Campbell, Vincent Savina; sisters-in-law, Lorraine Jasper and Norma Savina .
A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, December 23 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Stanley with Fr. William Felix celebrating the Mass. Burial will follow at Holy Family Cemetery in Stanley.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Monday and from 9:30 - 10:15 a.m., Tuesday at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls. At 6:45 p.m. Monday evening, Sr. Yvonne Heiss will recite the rosary.
AFTERSERVICE
A funeral service for Colleen "Lillian" Ebben, 78, of Stanley, was held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, December 23 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Stanley. Fr. William Felix was celebrant of the funeral Mass and music was provided by Louie and Gloria Eslinger. Readings were given by great-grandchildren, Saylor Rae Lechleitner and Anna Krizan; great-grandson Hunter Krizan recited a poem and gift bearers were Anna and Hunter Krizan. Interment was in Holy Family Cemetery in Stanley. Casket bearers were Steve Schemenauer, Butch Robinson, Dan and Joe Campbell, Bob Seibl and John Schunk. Thursday evening Sr. Yvonne Hiess recited the rosary with family and friends at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel.
