Conrad G. "Connie" Miller, 83, of Augusta, passed away Friday, May 3, 2013 at the Augusta Area Care Center.

Connie was born September 17, 1929 in Stanley, WI to Ada (Mock) and Harry Miller. He attended school in Stanley, graduating in 1947.

He did missionary work for the Stanley Church of the Brethren in Falfurrias, TX, where he fell in love with Jeanette Bowers of Muncie, IN. They were married on February 23, 1951.

Connie was drafted into the U.S. Army and fought in the Korean war. After his honorable discharge and odd jobs shortly after, he went to work for H.L. Green in Muncie. He was promoted to Assistant Manager at the Detroit, MI store and three years later, to Manager at the Utica, NY store. He opted for a career change and in 1963, moved his family back to Muncie and began working for Prudential Insurance Co. In 1967, he transferred to Chippewa Falls where he and his family lived in Eagleton and in the Bateman area of Lake Wissota.

Following his divorce from Jeanette in 1971, he remarried Yordis LeMay in 1979. Connie also worked for Wisconsin Agriculturist, training sales agents for the "Aggie" and Mutual of Omaha. His passions were hunting, fishing, gardening, woodworking, campfires, thrift sales, and craft shows. He had many fond memories with Yordis and all of his family and will be missed deeply by those who knew him.

Survivors include two daughters, Pamela King of Eau Claire, Jeanell Hoffmann of Augusta; two sons, Terry and Michael Miller, both of Augusta; stepdaughters, Rose (Rick) Frederick, Barbara and Elizabeth LeMay, all of Chippewa Falls; stepsons, Jeffrey and Daniel LeMay, both of Chippewa Falls; six grandchildren, Teara Works, Amber and Eric Irwin, Ryan and Greg Miller, Robyn King; and many great-grandchildren; step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren; cousins; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Yordis in 1991; his first wife, Jeanette; sisters, Marjorie Miller and Bernice Peterson; and two brothers, Raymond and Claude Miller.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, May 8 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls with Rev. Jim Woldhuis, Pastor at Chippewa Valley Bible Church, officiating. Burial will be in Edson Union Cemetery, town of Edson, Chippewa County.

Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m., Tuesday, May 7 and one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the funeral chapel.

AFTERSERVICE:

A funeral service for Conrad G. Connie Miller, 83, of Augusta, was held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, May 8 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls. The Rev. Jim Woldhuis of Chippewa Valley Bible Church, Chippewa Falls officiated. Personal reflections were shared by son, Terry Miller and nephew, Kurt Miller and Pastor Jim read reflections written by daughter, Jeanell. Interment followed at Edson Union Cemetery, town of Edson, Chippewa County. Casket bearers were Ryan, Greg, and Keven Miller, Jeff and Dan LeMay and Eric Irwin.
