Dale R. Schick Sr., 71, of Chippewa Falls, town of Eagle Point, died Friday, July 26, 2013 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire.
He was born June 27, 1942 in Chippewa Falls to Lorraine (Sweeney) and Ralph Schick. He graduated from Chippewa Falls High School and continued his education at CVTC, earning a degree in HVAC.
Dale proudly served in the US Army from 1960 until his honorable discharge in 1965.
Dale married LaDonna (Johnson) Fuller in Chippewa Falls. The two later divorced.
Dale worked most of his life in the carnival business and as a truck driver. He was a jack of all trades and could fix anything. He loved children and they loved his patient and gentle spirit.
Survivors include his son, Dale Jr. (Amy) Schick of Chippewa Falls; granddaughters, Nikki (Melvin) Mast of Eau Claire, Kristina Jensen of Chippewa Falls; great-grandsons, Evan and Chase Mast; sister-in-law, Karen Schick of Chippewa Falls; and nieces and nephews, Tracey, Lori, Christine, Scott, Brent and Daniel Schick.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his former wife, LaDonna; two brothers, David and Glen Schick; a sister-in-law, Debbie Schick; and a grandson, Sam Jensen on July 15, 2013.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, August 3 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls with Fr. George Stamm officiating. Burial with military honors conducted by the Chippewa Falls Patriotic Council will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service Saturday at the funeral chapel.
The family wishes to express their appreciation and gratitude to the staff of the Dunn County Healthcare Center, where Dale had been a resident the past three years; and to the Mayo Clinic Health System nursing staff and doctors for their exceptional care and compassion shown to Dale and his family.
AFTERSERVICE:
A memorial service for Dale R. Schick Sr., 71, of the town of Eagle Point, was held at 2 p.m., Saturday, August 3 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls. Fr. George Stamm officiated and music was provided by vocalist and family friend, Jim Langhoff. Interment with military honors conducted by the Chippewa Falls Patriotic Council was held at Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls and Frankie Rineck bugled taps.
