Darra "Sis" Sandvig, 71 of Chippewa Falls, passed away surrounded by family in her home after a short battle with cancer.

Darra was born February 15, 1943 in Portland, OR, to Richard "Noel" and Hilma Fellenz. She moved to Chippewa Falls at the age of two. She graduated from Chippewa Falls High School in 1962.

In 1963 she united in marriage to Ronald Sandvig and then relocated to Tacoma , WA. Darra and Ron moved back to Chippewa Falls in 1967. Darra's most loved career was waitressing at Connell's Supper Club. She also worked at Cray Research as a supervisor of central repair for many years until she retired in 1995. After retirement she enjoyed housekeeping for the Chippewa Falls school district.

Some of her favorite memberships were Jaycettes where she was a former president, LaQuaintance Club, H.O.S.T (Helping One Student To Succeed) mentor of first, second, and third graders in Harlingen, TX. Darra and Ron enjoyed their winter home in San Benito, TX where they made great friendships and lasting memories this past thirteen years. Darra also enjoyed her girlfriends in Chippewa Falls as they called themselves the "Tic -Tac- Girls". She enjoyed many trips with the girls including cards, and casino trips where she wasn't afraid to leave her winnings behind.

Darra is survived by her husband Ronald of 51 years; her children Lynn (Scott) Chartrand, of Anderson, SC, Mike (Andrea) Sandvig of Chippewa Falls, Tracy (Ric) Metzenbauer of Chippewa Falls, and Nick (Cori) Sandvig of Minneapolis, MN; eight grandchildren, Brandon Chartrand, Briana Chartrand, Darien Metzenbauer, Austin Metzenbauer, Mitchel Metzenbauer, LaKrissa Leiser, Hunter Sandvig, and Brooklyn Sandvig; four loving brothers, Jerry, Bick, David, and Gary Fellenz; a very dear and close cousin, Sharon "Sparky" Schimmel and long time schoolmate Janice Miles.

Darra was preceded in death by her parents Richard "Noel" and Hilma Fellenz, and sister Sandra at infancy.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 15 at Chippewa Valley Bible Church, Chippewa Falls with the Rev. Jim Woldhuis officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls.

Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m., Monday, July 14 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls and one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the church.

Memorials in Darr'a honor may be directed to the Chippewa Falls Food Bank, Agnes' Table or to the charity of your choice.

AFTERSERVICE

A funeral service for Darra "Sis" Sandvig, 71, of Chippewa Falls was held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 15 at Chippewa Valley Bible Church, Chippewa Falls. Pastor Jim Woldhuis officiated and music was provided by Beverly Woldhuis. Personal reflections were given by son, Nick Sandvig and brother, Gary Fellenz.

Interment was in Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls. Casket bearers were Nick and Mike Sandvig, Ric and Darien Metzenbauer, Scott and Brandon Chartrand.
