David L. Smith

David L. Smith, 77, of Chippewa Falls, formerly of Luxemburg, WI, passed away at home on Tuesday, August 27, 2024.

He was born December 30, 1946, in Chippewa Falls to Cecil and Alma (Sweitzer) Smith. 

On August 25, 1973, he married Lynnann Sloan. Over the years, David worked at Pregent’s Furniture, Kelly Furniture, as well as Montgomery Ward. The remainder of his career he worked at The Northern Center in Chippewa Falls, where he retired from. 

David enjoyed fishing, spending time on the lake at the camper, and being outdoors. He was a talented cook, liked playing cards with family and friends, and cherished the time he spent with his grandson, Sean, whom he shared a special bond with.

David is survived by his wife of 51 years, Lynnann; daughter-in-law, Tammy Smith of Luxemburg; grandson and special bud, Sean David Smith; brother, John Smith of Chippewa Falls; sister, Shari Friedel of Chippewa Falls; and many other relatives and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; and son, David Jr. in 2022.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, September 6 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Chapel of Hope Mausoleum, Chippewa Falls.
