Dolores Audrey Beaudette AKA "Dode", 88, of Chippewa Falls, passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at the Comforts of Home in Chippewa Falls.
Dolores was born 10-31-1925 in Chippewa Falls and was adopted as a newborn by Louise and Alfred Beaudette of Irvine. She was raised with her sisters, Clarise, Freda (Gregg) and Helen (Lott) and a brother Elmer. She graduated from McDonnell High School in 1944 and from College of St. Benedict in St. Joseph, Minnesota. She received her master's degree from University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota.
After graduation she taught in Holdingsford, MN, Maiden Rock, WI, New Prague, Mapleton and Lester Prairie, MN from 1948-1965. She returned to Wisconsin and taught in Bloomer, Colby and St. Peter's in Tilden. She taught high school instrumental and vocal music and also served as a principal at St. Peter's in Tilden later in her career. She loved working with the drama students.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Louise and Albert Beaudette, her sister Clarise, her sisters and brothers in law, Freda and Burt Gregg, Helen and Robert Lott and Elmer Beaudette, and her nephews Andrew Gregg and James Lott.
Survivors are her niece Roberta (Lott) and Richard Gale, and their children Angela (Gale) and Darcy Duckart and daughter Justine (Denmark, WI) and Robert and Desiree Gale and son Logan (Altoona, WI); her great niece Tanley McMullan of Albuquerque, New Mexico and great nephew Andrew Gregg of Manchester, New Hampshire. She is also survived by her special friends Candi Anderson, Kay Gerrits and Fran Girard of Chippewa Falls, and Priscilla Robinson of Rochester, Minnesota.
Her special interests were genealogy and the history of Chippewa Falls. She wrote several volumes about Chippewa including Boots and Shoes, Flavor of the Times, From the River Northward, Memory's Stream, Photographs by Bish, Postcard Views of Chippewa Falls, Thomas McBean's Chippewa Falls and slide series, Let us have a Park, Springs of Chippewa and Chippewa Falls: Glimpses of her first 101 years.
She was a member of and a pianist for Notre Dame Catholic Church, a church that she loved. She was also active with the Chippewa County Historical Society.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, March 6 at Notre Dame Catholic Church with Msgr. Mark Pierce officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls.
Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m., Wednesday at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls and one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church. During the visitation Wednesday evening, the Notre Dame PCCW will recite the rosary at 4 p.m. and a prayer vigil led by Candi Anderson will follow.
AFTERSERVICE
A funeral service for Dolores A. Dode Beaudette, 88, Chippewa Falls was held at 11 a.m., Thursday, March 6 at Notre Dame Church, Chippewa Falls. Msgr. Fr. Mark Pierce was celebrant at the funeral mass assisted by Tom Loomis. Readings were given by Candi Anderson and music was provided by Judy Brist. Interment was in Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls. Casket bearers were Bob Gale, Darcy Duckart, Don Girard, Scott Anderson and Dick Gale.
Wednesday evening the Notre Dame PCCW recited the rosary followed by a Christian Vigil Service led by Candi Anderson.
