Dolphus S. Smith AKA Smitty, 87, of Chippewa Falls, town of Lafayette, died Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at home.
He was born May 30, 1926 in Eau Claire to Mathilda (Vlasnick) and Frank Smith. He graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School in 1944.
Smitty married Shirley Mae Sather on December 10, 1947 in Eau Claire. He worked at Stanley Paper and Pulp and National Presto.
He was a rolling stone until settling down in Milwaukee. He worked at Allen-Bradley in Milwaukee for almost 30 years, taking an early retirement in 1983 at the age of 58. He moved back to Chippewa Falls and was a member of the Rolling Wheels Antique Motorcycle Club. Just this past August, during the 110th Harley Anniversary Parade in Milwaukee, Smitty had the opportunity to lead the parade as part of the antique Harley Living Legends.
Survivors include two daughters, Terri LaBrosse and Cyndi Linski, both of Tucson, AZ; a son, Robert Smith of Oak Creek, WI; four grandchildren, Tyler (Carrie) Linski, Rachel Drager, Michael Smith, Michelle (Jake) Lehouillier; five great-grandchildren, Ethan, Claudia, Justin, Sidney and Gavin; and many motorcycle friends who said, He will be missed on the road.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Shirley on August 26, 2003; a brother, Robert Smith; and grandchildren, Ann and Justin Teschner.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 8 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls with Fr. George Stamm officiating. Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Eau Claire.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service Saturday at the funeral chapel.

AFTERSERVICE
A memorial service for Dolphus S. Smitty Smith, 87, of the town of Lafayette was held at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 8 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls. Fr. George Stamm officiated and music was provided by organist, Marilyn Brace and vocalist, Bob Johnson. Several family members and friends shared personal reflections of Smitty. Interment was in Lakeview Cemetery, Eau Claire.
