Don Wesley Pulver, 82, of Chippewa Falls, town of Lafayette, passed away on Thursday, May 30th, at his residence with his loving family at his side.

Don was born to Lila and Wesley Pulver in La Crosse, Wisconsin on August 9, 1930. He graduated from La Crosse Central High School and attended La Crosse State University. Don married Mary Lou Schaper in La Crosse on September 1, 1950. Don worked in pharmaceutical sales for Yahr-Lange Drug Company for over 30 years, calling on local drug stores in central and northwest Wisconsin. Don was also involved in several successful businesses with Mary Lou, including Pulver's Wissota Mug, Foreign-5, Bridal Factory Outlet, Bridals and Bowties, The Wedding Company, and Bake and Brew Cafe.

Don was a talented singer who enjoined singing with the Holy Ghost choir and the Senior Music Makers. He also enjoyed singing in several area theatrical productions.

Don was especially proud of his involvement with the Chippewa Falls chapter of the Rotary Club. Don was a past president of the chapter and recently received the Paul Harris Fellow Award.

Don was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Don loved to attend the sporting events of his children and grandchildren. He also loved to travel, play golf at the Elks, ride his bike at the YMCA, attend Packer games, play bridge with the same Bridge Club for over 50 years, and fish for marlin on the Phoenixin Cabo. In the last several years, Don enjoyedthe outdoorsat the family cabin and farm.

Don is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Mary Lou; his children Dr. Kim (Patti) Pulver, Cindi (Deb Linc) Pulver, Scott (Jody) Pulver, Susie (Dan) Simon, and Eric (Sandy) Pulver. Don is also survived by his daughter-in-law Karen Pulver, and 11 grandchildren, Kristyn Pulver, Ross Pulver, Ryan (Antoinette) Pulver, Danielle Pulver, Allison (Rob) Keller, Mitch Pulver, Matt Pulver, Carah (Curt) Blythe, Kelsey Pruitt, Megan Pulver and Grant Pulver. Don is further survived by his sister Sonja Carlson.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, brother Ben Pulver, and son, Dr. Jeffrey J. Pulver.

Mary Lou and family are very appreciative for the care and compassion provided by hospice nurse Courtney and caregivers Karla, Carey, Larry, Karen, and granddaughters Kelsey and Megan.

A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 4, at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Jim Woldhuis officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to the Chippewa Falls Rotary Foundation, which provides scholarships to area students, helps to support of the Harmony House Homeless Shelter, along with many other worthwhile charitable endeavors.

AFTERSERVICE:

A memorial service for Don W. Pulver, 82, of Chippewa Falls, town of Lafayette, was held at 7 p.m., Tuesday, June 4 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls. Pastor Jim Woldhuis officiated and music was provided by the Chippewa Falls Senior Center Music Makers. Personal reflections were given by daughter, Cindy Pulver and granddaughter, Kelsey Pruitt.
