Donald D. Curtis, 81, formerly of North Springfield, VTdied December 23, 2014 in Chippewa Falls, WI.

He was born August 20, 1933 in Claremont to Edith (Wellman) and Josiah Curtis.

On October 20, 1963, Donald married Helen Dougherty in Cavendish. VT. Donald worked in construction as a mechanic and heavy equipment operator. Helen preceded him in death on January 21, 2000.

Donald had resided in Chippewa Falls, WI for the past seven years.

Donald enjoyed being outdoors, camping, hunting, and was an avid fisherman. He was also the founder and president of the 10-4 CB Club. He loved to spend time with this family and looked forward to family reunions at the Curtis Family Reunion Grounds. He treasured his grandkids dearly and loved to spoil them. He will be forever missed.

Survivors include daughters, Katrina (David) Harding of Phoenix, AZ, Lerlene (Rick) Swan of Chippewa Falls, WI; sons, Gary (Sandra) of Glastonbury, CT, Herbert (Teri) Pecor of Proctorsville, VT, Robert "Chip" (Stephanie) Curtis of Claremont, NH; daughters-in-law, Angela Curtis of West Hartford, CT, Polly Dougherty of Montpelier, VT; a sister, Shirley Blanchard of Brattleboro, VT; a brother, Alton Curtis of Claremont, NH; sister-in-law, Lucille Curtis of Ascutney, VT; 26 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Helen; daughter, Deborah Curtis; sons, Donald Curtis Jr., Ralph Curtis, Jeffrey Curtis, James Dougherty; sister, Irma Bovin; and brothers, Josiah and Clayton Curtis; ; brother-in-law, Larry Bovin; and a sister-in-law, Josephine Curtis.

A memorial service will be held in the spring, 2015 in Ascutney VT.
