Pat was born March 15, 1945 in St. Paul, Minn. to Donald and Mildred (Freeman) Hare and grew up in Mahtomedi, Minn. He attended Hill High School and graduated from St. John's University in Collegeville, Minn. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. After college, Pat married the love of his life, Patricia Ann Halada, on August 16, 1969 at St. Bridget's Church in River Falls, Wis. After marriage, he and Patty settled in Chippewa Falls. He was a salesman for school and office supply companies and took great pride in his career which he referred to as "his island".

He was a coach with the Chippewa Youth Hockey Association for many years and also coached youth football and baseball in Chippewa Falls. He was honored to be an Exalted Ruler for the B.P.O.E. Elks Club in Chippewa Falls and was a member of the Jaycees and Lions. Pat was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church where he was a Lector and Eucharistic Minister. After retiring, Pat enjoyed many things centered around others more than himself. He loved watching his grandchildren's school and sporting events, enjoyed ringing the Salvation Army bells, and delivering for the Meals on Wheels Program. He traveled extensively with his family and friends around the country and abroad enjoying the thrill of new adventures, and was an avid golfer always pursuing the next low score. Pat was a voracious reader, yard tinkerer, and grill master.

Pat is survived by his loving wife Patty; sons, Kevin (Debbie Briggs) of River Falls, Wis. and Brian (Angie Clark) of Woodbury, Minn.; four grandchildren, Jack, Owen, Piper & Ethan; six sisters, Marilyn Hare, Ione (Red) Rosenthal, Cathie (Dennis) Reardon, Judy Stoerzinger, Sue Hare, and Mary Mellgren along with many nieces, nephews and other cherished relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents. He will be missed by many for his warm heart, kind soul, quick wit, helping hands, loyal friendship, and sound guidance.
