He was born September 1, 1920 in Chippewa Falls to Sylvia (Davis) and Frank E. Hollen. He graduated from Chippewa Falls in 1938. He entered the Marine Corps serving during WW II and Korea.
Dutch played on the Chippewa Marines football team, was a Packer Fan, a proud shareholder in the Packers organization and a member of the Old Goats. He was employed by Soo Line Railroad, Chippewa Shoe Factory, was a pipe coverer, Chippewa County Under Sheriff and worked for several divisions of National Car Rental, retiring from Mud Cat Division of National Car Rental in 1985.
Survivors include: his wife, Geri; step-daughters, Cynthia Collett, Minneapolis, MN., Carli Schaffner, Rochester, MN., Sara (Brad Jilek) Sleeuwenhoek, Faribault, MN.; six step-grandchildren; fifteen step-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews and their families; and beloved pets, Chen and Missy.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; two brothers, Dean, Merril (Yvonne) and a sister, Mary.
No services will be held.
A private family interment will be held at Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner.
In lieu of flowers, a donation in Dutch's memory may be made to the Chippewa County Humane Association or a charity of the donor's choice.
