Donald W. "Don" King, 91, of 18243 146th Ave., Jim Falls, town of Eagle Point, Popple Lake, passed away Friday, January 11, 2013 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire surrounded by loved ones.

He was born September 30, 1921in Chippewa Falls, the son of Anna (Frick) and Fredrick King. He attended Chestnut Grade School and Popple Lake School.

Don married Eileen Reim on November 15, 1944 in the town of Eagle Point. They enjoyed 68 wonderful years together.

Don served as the Road Superintendent for the Chippewa County Highway Dept. for 31 years until retiring in 1983.

He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church-Eagleton for over 60 years. He loved spending time outdoors, riding his four-wheeler, chopping wood, hunting and ice fishing. He enjoyed yearly trips to The Last Frontier Musky Tournament in Winter and was very proud of his first place 48 inch, 27.5 lb. musky. He was an avid Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers fan and rarely missed a game. He and his wife, Eileen enjoyed many road trips across Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Canada. They also enjoyed watching the Mollie B Polka Party weekly on RFD-TV.

Survivors include his wife, Eileen; two daughters, Shirley (Wayne) Gormley of Chippewa Falls, Barbara (Bernard) Flackey of Bloomer; three sons, Ronald (Mary Sue) King, David (Laurie) King, Dale (Patricia) King all of Chippewa Falls; eleven grandchildren, Monica Comeau, Donald (Patricia) King, Kevin Gormley, Melissa (Donald) Greene, Brenda (John) Schaefer, Joseph Flackey, Stephanie Gehde, Adam (Dana) Baliff, Ashley King, Austin King, Alex King; ten great-grandchildren, Tyler and Alyssa Greene, Elizabeth Comeau, Emily, Lillian and Brett Schaefer, Evan, Ellie Jo and Rylee Gehde and Hope Baliff.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Edward King, Robert King; one sister, Doris Heidtke.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, January 15 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Eagleton with Rev. Philip Pitt officiating. Interment will be in Eagleton Cemetery, town of Eagle Point.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Monday, January 14 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls and one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the church.

AFTERSERVICE

A funeral service for Donald W. King, 91, of Jim Falls, town of Eagle Point, was held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, January 15 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Eagelton. The Rev. Philip Pitt officiated and music was provided by Pat Buchli.

Interment was in Eagleton Cemetery, town of Eagle Point. Casket bearers were Ronald, David and Dale King, Bernard Flackey, Wayne Gormely and Tim Nyhus.
