Donald E. Nesvacil, 66, of Chippewa Falls, town of Lafayette, died early Sunday morning, January 26, 2014 at Mayo Clinic Health System Eau Claire.
He was born October 15, 1947 in Chippewa Falls to Blanche (Hula) and Frank Nesvacil. He grew up in Cadott and graduated from Cadott High School in 1967. Following high school, Don entered an electrical apprenticeship at Roshell Electric. In 1972, he became a Journeyman Electrician.
On June 1, 1968, Don married Lois Gerber. They resided in Chippewa Falls where Don worked as an IBEW Union Electrician until his retirement in 2009.
He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Chippewa Falls.
Don was a talented carpenter. His family will treasure the many pieces of furniture and gifts he made for them over the years while "tinkering" in his heated workshop. He also enjoyed his permanent camper at Mike & Janet's Northstar Resort in Edgewater. He enjoyed fishing and will be remembered for always having to catch the first fish. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, who will continue his legacy and love for the outdoors.
He is survived by his wife, Lois of Chippewa Falls; a daughter, Jodi (Ken) Silvernail of Cameron; a son, Bryon (Dawn) Nesvacil of Chippewa Falls; a sister, Angela (Scott) Willkom of Chippewa Falls; grandchildren, Matthew and Sawyer Nesvacil, Jayton and LaBrya Silvernail; sisters-in-law, Nancy Roshell of Chippewa Falls, Jane (Keith) Lundsten of Pennsylvania; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his in-laws, Art and Edna Gerber; two brothers-in-law, John Roshell, Darrell Dodge; and a son, Neal Nesvacil, in infancy.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, January 30 at Faith Lutheran Church, Chippewa Falls, with the Rev. William Plautz officiating. Interment will be held before the service Thursday at Prairie View Cemetery, Village of Lake Hallie.
Visitation will be from 4 - 7 p.m., Wednesday, January 29 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls and from 9-10 a.m., Thursday, also at the funeral chapel.
AFTERSERVICE
A funeral service for Donald E. Nesvacil, 66, of Chippewa Falls was held at 11 a.m., Thursday, January 30 at Faith Lutheran Church, Chippewa Falls. The Rev. William Plautz officiated and music was provided by Barbara Sandford. Interment was in Prairie View Cemetery, village of Lake Hallie. Casket bearers were Roy and Jim Brenner, Mark Roshell, Ken Silvernail, Chase and Grant Willkom.
