Donald R. Wooley

Donald R. Wooley, 78, of Chippewa Falls, died peacefully surrounded by family, under the care of St. Croix Hospice, on Friday, September 20, 2024.

On January 30, 1946, Don was born to Floyd and Thelma (Stong) Wooley. After high school, Don was united in marriage to Carol Watson on June 12, 1965, at First Presbyterian Church in Chippewa Falls.

Don worked at Chippewa Falls Senior High school as a custodian for 34 years. Outside of work, he loved the outdoors. Don enjoyed fishing, hunting, metal detecting, gardening and woodworking, but most of all he cherished the time teaching his grandchildren his hobbies. Don was very creative, hard working and caring man that will be missed by his family and all who knew him.

Don is survived by his sons, Don (Debbie), Alan (Tracy), Joe (Debi), Chuck (Miriam) and Shane (Monica); grandchildren, Kerry, Brandon, Austin, Allison, Elizabeth, Wyatt, Gracie and Cashton; great-grandchildren, Jazlyn and Jasper; sister, Rosemary Poirier; sister-in-law, Joyce Hartz and her family; along with many other loving family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Thelma; wife, Carol; siblings; special aunt and uncle, Mellie and Roy Wooley, who helped raise him.

Don’s request was to “leave the dress clothes at home.” Please join the family and wear camouflage, hunting or fishing themed attire. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on October 5, 2024, at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, 44 East Columba St., Chippewa Falls, with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Pastor Aaron Sturgis will be officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family.
