Memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, March 28 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 4668 133rd St., Chippewa Falls.

Dorene Annette Olson, 68, of Chippewa Falls, died from cancer on Sunday, March 24, 2013 at Wissota Health & Regional Vent Center, Chippewa Falls, under the care of Mayo Clinic Health System Hospice.

She was born July 5, 1944 in New Ulm, MN to Leora (Schewe) and Vernon Jorgenson. She was raised in Chippewa Falls and graduated from Chippewa Falls High School in 1962.

Dorene married Damon Olson December 30, 1981 in Washington State.

Dorene had many talents, one which was carpentry. With her son, she built her own cupboards in one of her homes, as well as the stairs. She taught Ballroom and Latin Dancing and was a natural at it. She loved animals and had the ability to tame many of the strays for which she cared. She was a very kind and compassionate person, always willing to help anyone who needed it. She helped many others in their battle to fight cancer, standing by their side, giving them the love and support as needed. In 2000 she moved back to Chippewa Falls to help care for her ill mother. As a result her mother was able to enjoy her last year of life with much love, laughter and support.

Dorene enjoyed making jewelry, crocheting, garage sales and spending time with her family and friends. She had a strong love and faith in the God of the Bible, Jehovah. She volunteered her time going to peoples' homes, as well as talking to people she would meet, teaching them the Bible and sharing with them the hope that the Bible holds out to all mankind. Dorene looked forward to the hope of the resurrection and to the time when Rev. 21:4 is fulfilled: "and He will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning, nor outcry, nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away. "

Dorene was greatly loved and will be missed by many.

She is survived by her husband, Damon Olson of Chippewa Falls; two sons, Bill (Peggy) Willingham of Las Vegas, Nevada, Martin Coyle of Connell, WA; two sisters, Marilyn (Lee) Montemayor of Sheboygan; Janice (Philip) Fisher of Madison; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
