Doris M. Smith, 88, of Chippewa Falls, died peacefully on Thursday, January 21, 2016, at Our House Assisted Living, Chippewa Falls, under the care of Interim Hospice.

Doris was born on January 2, 1928, to Ralph and Marie (Reeverts) Culver in Dickens, Iowa. She graduated from Chippewa Falls High School in 1945. Doris married Raymond Smith on September 15, 1951, at the United Presbyterian Church in Chippewa Falls. She worked at the Chippewa Woolen Mill, Chippewa Herald Telegram and spent 37 years at Northwestern Bank in Chippewa Falls, retiring in 1993.

Doris was a longtime member and very active with the bible study group of Zion United Methodist Church. She enjoyed quilting and always looked forward to her monthly lunch outings with her friends. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Doris is survived by her husband of 64 years, Raymond; brother, Harold (Nancy) Culver of Iron Mountain, MI; sister-in-law, Maxine Culver of Altoona, WI; nieces, Elaine Mavis of Chippewa Falls, WI, Barbara (Tim) Dwyer of Burnsville, MN and Christina (Robert) Thode of Florence, KY; nephews, Larry (Sandy) Culver of Bloomer, WI and Thomas (Cheryl) Culver of Pulaski, WI; along with her many great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Wayne and Russell.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 26, 2016, at Zion United Methodist Church, 1102 Superior Street, Chippewa Falls, with a visitation one hour prior to the service at church. Rev. Listowel Ayensu-Mensah will be officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Alzheimer's Association, 404 1/2 N. Bridge Street, Chippewa Falls, WI 54729.
