Earl Levi Hicks, 95, of the town of Eagle Point, died Thursday, June 30, 2011 at Maplewood Nursing Home in Bloomer.
He was born October 8, 1915 on the Chippewa River in the town of Eagle Point to Elsie M.(Beck) and Levi Hicks. He was raised in Eagle Point and graduated from Chippewa Falls High School.
Earl married Avis M. Westlund on June 26, 1948 in Decorah, Iowa. They resided in the town of Eagle Point where he farmed and was employed at the Jim Falls Dairy.
Survivors include: five daughters, Gloria Grabowski, Sandra Ray, Karen (Mike) Adrian, Vicki (Duane) Faas, Tamara (Andrew) Nauman; one son, Bruce Hicks; six grandchildren, Jon, Anne, Jayne and Leigh Grabowksi, Kevin and Cindy Kosik; two great-grandchildren, Magan and Isaac Kosik.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; his wife, Avis on December 12, 1989; one son, James, one sister, Dorothy Hutchinson and one brother, Donald Hicks.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, July 7 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls with services conducted by Chippewa Falls Masonic Lodge #176 F&AM.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday at the funeral chapel.
Earl enjoyed playing cards, watching game shows on tv, traveling and going out to the farm.
