Edith E. Freeman, 88, of Chippewa Falls, died Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.

She was born May 13, 1925 in Bloomer to Nellie (Stevens) and Horace Comstock. She was raised in the town of Cleveland and attended Bloomer schools.

On August 23, 1947, she married Edward H. Freeman in Chippewa County. They resided in Eau Claire before moving to the town of Hallie in 1950, where they lived for over 50 years. They moved to the Chippewa Manor Retirement Community in 2006 and in September 2012, Edith moved to the Rutledge Home. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Chippewa Falls.

Survivors include two daughters, Linda (Dennis) Harings of Chippewa Falls, Carolynn Brenner of Deltona, FL; four sons, Gary (Louise), Vernon (Cindy), Rodney and Kevin, all of Chippewa Falls; a sister, Shirley Englestad of Hibbing, MN; three brothers, Virgil (Janet) Comstock of Kenosha, Brian Comstock of Janesville, Steven (Janice) Comstock of Howard Lake, MN; son-in-law, Joe Hinojosa of Chippewa Falls; 13 grandchildren, Kelly, Scott, Heidi, Gussi, Joshua, Doralee, Aron, Isaac, Courtney, Chloe, Katlin, Katie and Ryan, and their families; ten great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward on December 26, 2007; two brothers, Harvey and Howard Comstock; a daughter, Janese Hinojosa; son-in-law, Patrick Brenner; two sisters, Charlotte Cartwright and Lila Rose; and a sister-in-law, Joan Comstock.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, November 26 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls with the Rev. William Plautz officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie View Cemetery, Village of Lake Hallie.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m., Tuesday morning at the funeral chapel.

AFTERSERVICE

A funeral service for Edith E. Freeman, 88, of Chippewa Falls was held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, November 26 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls. The Rev. William Plautz of Faith Lutheran Church officiated and music was provided by Judy Brist. Interment followed in Prairie View Cemetery, village of Lake Hallie. Casket bearers were Aron, Ryan and Chloe Freeman, Joshua Jacobson, Scott Harings and Gussi LaRose, honorary casket bearer was Isaac Freeman.
