Edrie E. Frampton, 99, of Chippewa Falls, died Monday, August 5, 2013 at Chippewa Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation in Chippewa Falls.
She was born May 4, 1914 in Indiana to Julia and Zachary Callahan. She graduated with honors from the University of WI with a Bachelors Degree in Social Work.
Edrie married John Frampton on June 19, 1939 at St. Pauls Chapel in Madison. They moved to Washington D.C. in 1941 where John worked for the Foreign Funds Control. They moved to Chippewa Falls in 1946 where she has lived since that time.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Chippewa Falls. Edrie was instrumental in getting the Meals on Wheels program started in Chippewa County. As a young girl, Edrie learned to sew from her mother and became an excellent seamstress, always working on a sewing project.
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Kurth of Palo Alto, CA; two grandchildren, Julie (Jonathon) Kurth-Emerson of Los Angeles, CA; Nick (Nicole) Kurth of Folsom, CA; and four great-grandchildren, Owen and Charlotte Emerson, Jack and Cate Kurth.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, John on April 11, 2000.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, August 8 at Forest Hill Cemetery in Chippewa Falls with the Rev. Robert Hoekstra, officiating.
Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls. At 2 p.m., friends and family are welcome to follow in the funeral procession to Forest Hill Cemetery for the graveside service.
AFTERSERVICE:
A memorial service for Edrie E. Frampton, 99, of Chippewa Falls was held on Thursday, August 8 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls. The Rev. Robert Hoekstra officiated and personal reflections were given by Edries daughter, Barbara Kurth, grandson, Nick Kurth, granddaughter, Julie Kurth-Emerson and friend, Julie Stafford. Interment was in Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls.
Casket bearers were, Nick Kurth, Jerry Brost, Pat Anderson, Robert Hoekstra and Jim Mandelert.
