Edward J. Starr, 63, of Chippewa Falls, Village of Lake Hallie, died Saturday, December 10, 2011 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire after a lengthy battle with health issues.
He was born November 8, 1948 in Ashland to Catherine (Kovach) and Allen Starr. Ed grew up in the Racine area and following school, he worked at J.I. Case Tractor and later at Standard Foundry, both in Racine.
In 1975, Ed moved to the Chippewa Falls area. He married Kimberly Tarbox on October 8, 1982 in Chippewa Falls.
Ed enjoyed fishing, playing cards, storytelling, family gatherings and getting together with friends. He was an outdoorsman who loved animals. He enjoyed life and loved to laugh. He will be dearly missed.
Survivors include his wife, Kimberly, of Hallie; two sons, Allen Starr, Justin Thiede, both of Chippewa Falls; two daughters, Janelle Starr of Washington, Tina Starr of Alaska; his mother, Catherine Lamontagne of Chippewa Falls; a sister, Patricia (Gary) Mahlum of Eau Claire; a brother, Michael (Carol) Starr of Deming, New Mexico; brothers-in-law, Keith Tarbox, Kevin Tarbox, both of Hallie, Kenneth (Julie) Tarbox of Cadott; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; his father; his stepfather, George Lamontagne; his mother and father-in-law, Ardell and Marilyn Tarbox; and a great-nephew, Nikolai Kenneth Smith.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, December 14 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls.
Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, December 13 and one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the funeral chapel.
