Eleanor G. Dickens passed away on January 29, 2014 at the Rutledge Home under the care of Mayo Clinic Health System Hospice. She was 99 years old.
She was born January 4, 1915 in Chippewa Falls, daughter of Emma Marie (Hilp) and Oscar Buttenhoff. She was raised in Chippewa Falls and attended Chippewa Falls Public Schools.
She was part owner and operator of the Buttenhoff Grocery Store until her retirement in 1971.
She was a member of Zion United Methodist Church, Chippewa Falls. Ellie had a beautiful voice and she sang in the church choir.
Ellie took up oil painting in her 70s. She entered many paintings in the art show in Chippewa Falls.
She is survived by her niece, Sharon Muenich of Chippewa Falls.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, Lydia, Irene and Lorraine.
A private family service will be held with spring burial in Prairie View Cemetery, village of Lake Hallie.
Ellies niece would like to extend a special thank you to Diana at Mayo Hospice for her care and compassion while caring for Ellie. Shed also like to thank the Rutledge Home for their kindness and love given to Ellie during her years there.
