Elizabeth M. "Betty" Gerber, 82, of Chippewa Falls, town of Lafayette, went to her eternal home in heaven, joining her husband and Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on Thursday, February 14, 2013 at the Rutledge Home in Chippewa Falls.
She was born January 23, 1931 in Chippewa Falls to Vida (Smith) and Harry Hunt. She graduated from Chippewa Falls High School in 1949.
Betty married Walter Gerber on May 20, 1950 at Jim Falls United Methodist Church. They resided in Jim Falls until moving to Chippewa Falls in 1993.
She was employed by the State of Alabama Employment Service and then worked at Falls Dairy in Jim Falls. She later became the treasurer for the town of Anson for ten years and then the secretary at the Worship Center in Chippewa Falls for ten years.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Jane (Ron) Wheeler of Lakota, Iowa, Barbara Jean (John) Hodges of Colorado Springs, CO; two sons, John E. (Sandy) Gerber, Robert M. (Jennifer) Gerber all of Chippewa Falls; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Walter on December 4, 2012; a sister, Nina Kressin; two brothers Vern and Dayton Hunt and a grandson, Charles J. Hodges.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, February 18 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel with Pastor Ron Wheeler officiating. Interment will be in Prairie View Cemetery, village of Lake Hallie.
Visitation will be from 2-5 p.m., Sunday at the funeral chapel and one hour prior to the service Monday.
AFTERSERVICE:
A funeral service for Elizabeth M. "Betty" Gerber, 82, of Chippewa Falls, village of Lake Hallie, was held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, February 18 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls. Pastor Ron Wheeler officiated, music was provided by Bill Sykora and personal reflections were given by granddaughter, Michelle Bettis.
Casket bearers were Michel Gerber, Nathan Wheeler, Jonathan Wheeler and Dale Schick. Honorary casket bearers were John Hodges and James Bettis. Interment will be at a later date in Prairie View Cemetery, village of Lake Hallie.
