Ella L. Welch, 93, of Chippewa Falls, died peacefully on Thursday, June 11, 2015, at the Wissota Health and Regional Vent Center in Chippewa Falls.

She was born in Price County, WI, to Theodore and Louise (Hippler) Gale on May 29, 1922. Ella graduated from Chippewa High School with the class of 1940. She later married Thomas E. Welch Jr. on September 14, 1942, in Milwaukee.

Ella was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Chippewa Falls. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and arts and crafts. Most of all, she cherished her time fishing and hunting with all of her family. She was a very devoted wife, mother and grandmother that will be greatly missed by many.

Ella is survived by her son, James A. (Charlene) Welch of Jim Falls; grandchildren, Les (Maggie) Welch of Chippewa Falls, James T. (Trisha) Welch of Sand Creek, James P. (Julie) Welch of Cadott, and John (Fiancee' Rhonda Martin) Welch of Eau Claire; great-grandchildren, Amanda, Brianna, Hunter, and Alyson Welch and Brayden & Brooklyn Kelm; daughter-in-law, Mary Lou Welch of Chippewa Falls; along with many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thomas E. Welch Jr.; son, Thomas T. Welch; and brother, Lawrence Gale.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 17, 2015, at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, 44 E. Columbia St., Chippewa Falls, with a visitation one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Pastor Terri Koca will be officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls, WI.

AFTERSERVICE

A funeral service for Ella L. Welch was held at 11 a.m, Wednesday, June 17, 2015, at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls. Rev. Terri Koca officiated. Music was provided by organist, Judy Brist. Interment was at Forest Hill Cemetery in Chippewa Falls.Casket bearers were Les Welch, James T. Welch, John Welch, Les Lakey, Richard Gale and Larry Gale.
