Emily Stella Essler, 77, of Chippewa Falls, died Sunday, October 27, 2013 at Sacred Heart Hospital, Eau Claire, after a short illness.

She was born March 24, 1936 in Sauk Centre, MN to Helen (Cripe) and Emil Studanski. She graduated from Sauk Centre High School in 1954, where she was the homecoming queen.

On June 5, 1960, Emily married Kenneth Essler. She made homes for her family in West Allis, WI, Cresco, Iowa and retired in Osakis, MN. They moved to Chippewa Falls to be near their family.

Emily was a wonderful homemaker, wife and mother. She enjoyed family vacations and going to garage sales with her sister, Ann. She will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her husband, Ken Essler of Chippewa Falls; two daughters, Karen (Randy) Flanery of Walkerville, Michigan, Kathryn (Mark) Haakana of Chippewa Falls; two grandsons, Timothy and Joshua Haakana; two step-grandsons, Brian (Jen) Flanery, Chad (Holly) Flanery; four step-great-grandchildren, Maks, Finn, Ali and Easton; two sisters, Margaret Dinndorf of Albany, MN, Geri (Mike) Reinardy of Cedar, MN; a brother, Jim (Mary Ann) Studanski of Belle Plaine, MN; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Helen Studanski; sister and brother-in-law, Ann and Stan Nelson.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, October 30 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls with Pastor Jon Haakana officiating.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral chapel.

A funeral service for Emily Stella Essler, 77, of Chippewa Falls was held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, October 30 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls. Pastor Jon Haakana officiated and music was provided by Jill Olofson. Personal reflections were shared by Emilys daughters, Karen Flanery and Kathy Haakana.
