Erma G. Zwiefelhofer, 86, of Chippewa Falls, passed away Saturday, January 21, 2012 with her family by her side after a short battle with cancer, under the care of St. Joseph's Hospice.
She was born April 28, 1925 in Bloomer to Ida (Bowe) and Edward Nazer. She grew up on a farm north of Jim Falls and attended the country school there. She worked at St. Joseph's hospital for many years, retiring in 1991 from the physical therapy department. After retirement she worked as a volunteer at the Rutledge Home for many years.
Erma's greatest joys were her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with them, attending their sporting events, working in her yard, watching birds, crocheting, reading and walking in Irvine Park.
Survivors include: two daughters, Ardell (Bill) Kurtz, Sharon (Tim) Normand; two sons, Glen (Luann) Zwiefelhofer, Dale (Mary) Zwiefelhofer; nine grandchildren, Dawne (John) Ramharter, Laurie (Lee) Douglas, Julie (Rick) Eidal, Ryan (Renee) Normand, Kraig (Sara) Zwiefelhofer, Sara (DJ) Clark, Brady (Kathryn) Zwiefelhofer, Cody Zwiefelhofer, Jessalyn Zwiefelhofer; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Florence (Ed) Swatzina; a brother, Edward "Bud" (Ardis) Nazer; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; a son Allen; a sister, Malinda "Linda" Buchholtz and four brothers, Orville, Gordon, Ben and Gerald.
A funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 24 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls with the Rev. Robert Hoekstra, chaplain for St. Joseph's Hospice, officiating. Erma will be laid to rest at Hope Mausoleum in Chippewa Falls.
Friends may call from 2 p.m. until the time of the service at 6 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral chapel.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to her caregivers and to St. Josephs' Hospice team members for their care, kindness and support.
