Evie J. Wheeler, 83, of Eau Claire, died Saturday, December 20, 2014 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.

She was born June 22, 1931 in West Lima. She grew up in Bloomer and graduated from Bloomer High School.

On September 10, 1960, Evie married Dale Wheeler. They resided in Hallie where Evie worked as a seamstress. She was a devoted wife and mother with traditional values, a self-taught cook, and taught her children those same values. She enjoyed outdoor activities and proudly worked side by side her husband to build their home. Her faith and her family were most important to her and she will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her children, Mariann (Tucker) Snyder of Mankato, MN, Diana (Mike) Smetana of Bloomer, Dean (Stephanie) Wheeler of Westfield, Rebecca (Mike) Albert of Stevens Point, Todd (Janie Ellsworth) Wheeler of McKinney, TX, Lori (David) Boley of Mondovi; a sister, Donna Wheeler of Chippewa Falls; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, plus one due in January; one great-great-granddaughter; sisters-in-law, Ruth Burt of Little Rock, AR, Donna Rachel Burt of Dallas, TX, Caryll Tibbetts of Harvest, AL, Dawn Riley of Rochester, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret (nee Dean) Muenich; father William Burt; step-father, Joseph Muenich; her husband, Dale on July 17, 1988; brother-in-law, Leigh Wheeler; and two brothers, Harry and Oliver Burt.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, December 24 at Birch Street Baptist Church, 3120 Birch St., Eau Claire with Rev. Tim Hallett Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie View Cemetery, Village of Lake Hallie.

Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m., Tuesday at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls and one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church.

AFTERSERVICE

A funeral service for Evie J. Wheeler, 83, of Eau Claire, was held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, December 24 at Birch Street Baptist Church in Eau Claire. The Rev. Tim Hallett Jr. and Rev. Bill McCoy officiated. Music was provided by Neal and Ray Adcock, David Boley, Naomi Hallett and Aspen McCoy.

Interment was at Prairie View Cemetery, village of Lake Hallie. Casket bearers were Mike Wheeler, Chet Morton, Ray Parr, Dan Pliska, Melanie and Carl Popple.
